And She Took Pretty as an Insult

Wow, can you believe it is almost July? I'm just starting to really get into my summer mode of heat wave induced yet romantically peaceful mornings, the whimsy of dancing around an air conditioned room donning only frilly, light pastel colored under garments, and smiling as the music blasts and the sun blazes; inspiring not only effortless yet exceptional summer looks but providing the perfect spontaneity spurring soundtrack to an amazing and adventurous summer.

I am indeed a sucker for ruffles, not too many of course, I'm not a fan of appearing overly feminine, not usually anyway. However, I suppose this dress's femininity is muted enough, the fluffy hem is rather demure, not to mention, pairing it with high tops pretty much dismissed any lasting bits of ultimate girly factor this dress originally intended, then again the shoes are splattered with flowers, hmm. Speaking of my new floral high tops though, aren't they just divine? I wish a clearer photo could have captured them but in case it isn't clear here, they are amazingness in footwear form! Aside from the fact that I adore high tops, the sides and front of the shoe fold over, revealing an entire floral garden; see, amazing right?

Long Live the King

I could go on forever and literally ever about the greatness, amazingness, and utterly unmatchable talent that is Michael Jackson. While television and radio play his more popular videos today and half heartedly nod to the music on behalf of this fated anniversary, I smile in appreciation, happy that at least for one day, the world remembers the awesome astounding, angel of an artist that graced us with not only his music, but his heart.

Hot Springs

New Crop top, looving the fact that it was only four bucks, doesn't get much better than that! These lace up boots are pretty freakin' awesome too, only eighteen bucks, and they'll definitely do until I loosen my apron strings enough to purchase the high top Doc Martens I've been lusting after for um, ever.. And of course, thee favorito floral leggings, actually my only pair of floral leggings, but they'd still be my favorites even if I had like, a billion or so.

Also, I changed my hair again; shocked, right? Yeah, didn't think so. Summer totally equals short hair, they're the perfect couple for sure!

Look at Me When I'm Talkin' to You

I believe it to be a fact that the most coolest, original and inspirational looks are the ones that take literally minutes to put together. A failed attempt to construct a mildly decent hairstyle, a tendency to automatically reach for dark colored tees when being chic falls drastically low on my things I care about scale, and my subconscious obsession with all things fishnetty-cobwebby are just a few of the many attributes that play into what I generously refer to as grunge, but can be more accurately characterized as the result of surveying the content of my closet and heavily shrugging my shoulders in response.

By the way, I know it's common practice in the blogosphere to quickly glance over one's blog, leaving a half hearted comment without ever so much as grazing the writing content of the post; but because I am a writer, Journalism major, and aspiring magazine editor it really grinds my gears per se, to know that many visitors just simply scroll through the photos on my blog and never take the time to read the content. I feverishly and meticulously spend way too much time on the writing portion of my posts because although I adore fashion; writing is my first love, therefore, its quality and your feedback regarding it mean a great deal. No More Homework, No More Books

I've been longing for the perfect pair of denim shorts for quite some time now; an even, classic wash, a length short enough to be both cute and kinda sexy but avoids the appearance of being half naked when sitting down, and a comfy yet structured fit that will keep you reaching for them all summer long whether you feel like hotting it up or just strolling on the sunlit sands. However, due to my inability to spend more than say, twelve dollars, on a yard of denim; I took it upon myself to snip off a pair of old bootcut jeans and was suddenly left with a makeshift pair of shorts that are maaad uneven but will totally do until I'm able to put my cheapness on hold long enough to purchase my dream pair.

Although I'm usually all for bright colors, eclectic pairings, and bold accessories, it's surprisingly refreshing to dress down, or in other words, regular. A simple white polo and classic Chuck Taylors clearly exemplified the elsewhere focus of my thoughts and feelings that were taken over by Finals Week. To don my usual eccentric, unconventional parings would have been no more than a facade of joy and free spiritness that in truth were momentarily yet intensely replaced with incessant studying on subjects I don't care about, writing eight page research papers on things I'll never again discuss, and memorizing thousands of definitions and formulas that immediately fled my mind the moment the last bubble on the Scan Tron was filled in. Nevertheless, I had to give a shout out to my true self by rocking my colorful, comic book Chucks, they're indeed my favorite pair.

Sizzle

I just love the feeling of summer, the season embodies a wild, carefree, and effortlessly fierce attitude that makes the sweltering heat it bears so much more than worth it. Perfect mini dresses with hemlines much shorter than hemlines should ever be, super hot heels that instantly step up any look, and wild, untamed tresses that exude free spiritness. Sigh..sooo excited for the crazy, unforgettable adventures of summer.

Yes, this is my natural hair, finally right? It feels rather liberating to rock my mane, I haven't in literally years. I get so many comments/questions about my hairstyles etc. because they change almost as much as my outfits do. I've been promising to do a post dedicated to it for a while now and I will, soon, so if you have any specific questions let me know.

I received my pretty, pretty princess heels from one of CSN Store's two hundred online shops. I love the glitter infestation going on and they look perfect without socks or even with mismatched ones as I randomly wore here, easily allowing them to go from day to night. CSN also has some beautiful bathroom vanities right now, thinking I might need one to add to my new princess collection.
And oh, oh; I have Formspring.me now. Being that there's a comment box at the end of each post and I have Twitter, I must say I don't totally get the point but it seems like fun so drop me a line.

It's like a Cocktail but Fashiony

The following looks range from 2008 to last year. No, I haven't been naked the past few weeks (although the already sweltering weather has spawned some serious wishful thinking) but I'm working so much that outfit posts have been few and far between, as in pretty much non exsistent.

And I know I'm being a crap created blogger right now but geez, I'm maad tired and I juuust can't bear to list the various details of these looks, so if you want to know, just say the word(s).

On the cooler side of the pillow, I fiiinaaaaaallly got my Acne wedges! Well, kinda; the whole paying hundreds of dollars for well, most things, is not really my steez, so when I spotted these knockiin' knockoffs at Forever 21 today, well it was awesomeness in shoe form, straight up!

P.S: I haven't seen Sex and the City 2 yet but I keep hearing it's lamesauce, say it isn't so!

Somewhere in the Middle

Quick collage I made in lieu of what can only be referred to as summery spring, where the sun and breeze play rather nicely together, yet prelude to a hotter than hell season to come. Finals week is killin' right now and I haven't had much time to do more than study and hit the gym, it's bikini season after all ;)
