Dont Act Surprised

Sooo remember back in a previous post when I explained how Forever 21 changes concepts every six weeks? Well, although it's cool to have a lot of new clothing to not-so-silently admire and style in my head as I merchandise it, it can be a real pain trying to find a specific item because the whole store is different. However, this time around, my flustered complaints were instantly muted by a new, specific concept that immediately had me wanting to purchase almost every single item in it's venue!

It's called Tokyo Seoul and it's bright, zany, bold, eccentric, Tokyo/Harajuku girl inspired; in other words, it has me written all over it! I believe I've previously talked about "theme" weekends at Forever 21, how associates are encouraged to style themselves according to a specific concept. I was much too happy when I discovered that this past weekend was to be Tokyo Seoul themed. I had been holding onto this ridiculously yet majestically oversized bow that I purchased in honor of Hello Kitty, hoping to find the right ocassion to rock such a bold piece and the ocassion finally presented itself! Yeees!

Dude, I wanna move to Japan, I say/write this at least once a week, and being able to dress sooo eccentrically for once without being stared at strangely(I think it still happened though) just intensified my desire to become an official Tokyo resident. Unfortunately though, Japan will have to wait a while. On the contrary, however, I'm going to San Francisco Tuesday! For the first time, ever! I'm sooo excited, happy, and totally clueless about where I should go to get the most out of what I've heard to be an amazingly artistic, individualistic, and creative place!

Sooo PLEASE lemme know! Where should I go first? Any great thrift shops? Amazing vegan restaraunts? Where do I go to really get a sense of SF culture? What about night life spots? Tell me everything! Otherwise I may just end up going to visit the Golden Gate bridge and have some clam chowder like a plaid, little, fashionless tourist; puhpuhpuh pleeease don't do that to me!

bad news hare

Did you know that slaughterhouses tie up the baby calf's limbs from birth to prevent it from moving, in order to keep the meat tender? That's how Fillet Mignon is made. Also, were you aware that gelatin is made from animal bone marrow/hooves? That includes skittles, sour punch, and even those bomb jello shots that leave you happily wasted at parties. I've been a vegetarian for three years now, and although I try my hardest not to press my views onto anyone else, I think it's important to know how (gruesomely) the food you consume is produced; see for yourself.

Uh...now that I've successfully rained on everyone's parade (sorry, just keeping it 100) I'll move on. When I first saw this tank at Forever 21, it immediately made me think of vegetarianism; the neutral color and the large animal graphic loudly stated "Support Us!" Sooo I did :) In addition, I am in love with my new pants, how cool are pants when they're harem on top and skinny legged at the bottom? They're sooo roomy and comfortable, I'm pretty sure I'd wear them on a long plane flight or to shake my bon bon in Zumba.

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese

What's a girl to do when not one, but two, of her cameras suffered tragic tripod accidents rendering both of them useless. Why, bust out the camera phone of course! That's what it's for right? You know- cheesy, goofily posed, poor quality bathroom pics...PhotobucketPhotobucket
In other news, I'd like to make an announcement that I am officially obsessed with tie-dye for my upcoming, favorite season :))) Tie-dye screams easy, breezy, carefree, summer lust; taking impromptu roadtrips to random house parties, slurping on ginormous 7-11 slurpies while sticking your feet out the car window so your popsicle-bright colored self-pedi dries faster! Ahhh...summer...sooo EXCITED!!! I can hear the beach waves crashing into me, haha.

What my summer is going to look like:

Again???

Consider this your warning: This video is more random than it is fashionable; what if that means I'm more random than I am fashionable? Yeesh! Well, it's only fair that I openly admit that I have a strong tendency to ramble and ramble, on and on...until I forget what the original suject matter was. However, in my defense, I'd also like to confess that I wasn't completely myself at this exact moment, by closely watching the video I'm sure you catch my drift; if you don't, that's even better!

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Does everyone remember YM magazine? I remember excitedly tearing through it in my preteen years, back when it used to be Young and Modern; before it became Your Magazine. YM's ads were great; looking back they almost appear retro! They had the latest fashion trends, a fun young vibe and the fashion was always suuuper cool!

Easy Rider

About this outfit: No one was able to find it in their hearts to notify me that it is vital, when purchasing spandex, to make sure it is in one size smaller than that you usually wear; and because of that previously unknown fact, these versatile, wardrobe staple pants continued to slide down every few steps or so, all the live long day, grrr...

On a happier note, I was probably too excited when I stumbled upon, what I like to call the "niƱo jacket." You know, the little fighter pilot looking jacket with the faux fur collar that all the adorable, little Latino boys wear! Finally got my hands on one..yees, and for seven bucks, triple yees with knobs! Okay, I'm still too excited :)))

Spring is the Thing

I admit, we aren't having the best spring over here in So Cali but being that I have recently taken up yoga (loooove) and have made a decision to live optimistically; I have discovered the rainbow behind the storm that is Santa Ana winds, random rain, and tempermental sunlight ;)))))

Look at it this way, we now have extra time to wear our knit caps and beanies, as well as our blazers! Our tights and leggings aren't overheating our legs yet; and light sweaters are still practical and uber versatile! Isn't this great news?! Say it with me "Spring is the Thing!" :)))
