It's always obvious when Patricia Field has played stylist to a movie. Bursts of fluorescent and fun loving drama are her signature! Seeing the girls of Sex and the City floating across the screen in the most unique, enticing, and statement making looks never fail to have me furiously jotting notes of inspiration during every episode.
I love the free and unique style of Patricia Field; how she takes a common, staple piece and remixes it in a totally new way, allowing you to look at the piece in an entirely different light. Her style makes you want to do nothing more than run to your closet and play dress up, over sized hats and feather boas included!
The texture combinations, the bright, detailed palettes and especially the confident, bold attitude Field exudes in her looks inspire me in a way that any other designer just fails to accomplish (except maybe Betsey Johnson, shh). Maybe the fact that Field is a costume stylist for the big screen forces her looks to be more funky and dramatic than other designers. I love that she keeps fun, drama, and dreams at the forefront of her style, adding a unique freshness to even the most regal of looks.
Lastly, our shared affection (obsession) for Hello Kitty and Diet Coke cement the overflowing amount of love and adoration I have for this fierce (hate that word but it's fitting), funky, and extraordinarily eccentric fashionista!
