My mum got me a suuuper bangin' MJ shirt that I will dutifully and honorably be wearing in celebration of his 51st birthday! I'd like to pair the look with glitter blasted dark denim pants, however, I'm not too eager to pull out the dark denim just yet, summer is still here! I'm also thinking of pinning the MJ buttons on a vest..

Simplicity Please

With the combination of rekindling a fire that should have stayed burned out, having a mini meltdown after viewing my paycheck in lieu of viewing all the amazing, new F21 pieces (esp. the Hello Kitty sweater) I couldn't buy, losing my car keys, finding out I was black listed at a very substantial and frequented location, having to eat granola bars for dinner when hunger decided to strike at 2AM, beautiful disasters with the boyfrienemy, having to call Triple A regarding the busted tire that went unnoticed until it was too late, eating so much salad and cheese toast that I felt sick all day and appeared to be very much with child, and having to get up for the oh-so-glorious first day of classes in less than 8 hours from now, I'm feeling like I am in dire need of another weekend, to recover from this one...

Transitions

Everyday feels like a countdown, everyday we get one day closer to Fall; soon summer will be nothing more than a fond memory of unforgettable moments and a compilation of photos worthy of much more than a thousand words...

This editorial represents the fall transition: the last of the bright, punchy colored sundresses and the firsts of the liquid black leggings, the perfect black blazer, and faux leather motorcycle jackets. As unhappy as I am about storing away my favorite pair of shorts, breezy sundresses, and rompers; I can feel hints of anticipation creeping in...

p.p.s: f21 has a knock off of the philip lim zipper detailed dress in the last photo; it's grey though (peeeerfect for fall, duh) and I'm pretty sure I'll be rockin' it with floral tights.

Because Weekends Were Made for Fun!

Tokyo, Japan street style has always been one of my favorites! Harajuku is sooo fun and cute; absolutely irresistible!!! The punchy bright colors, fun graphics, and eccentric details have always excited me in a way nuetrals and basics never could. I muuuust go to Japan, I can't stand admiring it through the screen of my HP any longer. Sanrioland, Harajuku District, the best Hello Kitty stuff that I could never find in the US...destiny awaits me! ;))))

Betsey Johnson RTW Fall 09

Don't get this forever-a-summer-girl twisted, I am sooo not excited for Fall! It's just that Betsey Johnson's RTW Fall collection just happens to be full of all my favorite things: tulle, sequins, bright colors, and cheetah print, ohmahgah! I can't wait to pair a cutesy cardi with my tutu, and my black sequined mini dress with electric blue tights, and my cheetah print pencil dress with a hot pink blazer... Whatev though, like I said- I'm definitely not excited for Fall...well maybe just a little.

Why the West is Fun!

How exactly does one "pull off" cowboy boots? By keeping the rest of the look extremely un-western of course, no rodeos in this post Pretty lady! I've had these butterfly boots for years upon years now and I've probably worn them a total of three times; such a shame considering how cute they are. Don't you feel like such a maven when you take a piece of clothing you've had for ages and work it into something new? Making the psuedo vintage piece feel new again!

Also, I'm suuuuper obsessed with rompers right now, to the point where I silently hope every shift and mini dress I run into will be sewn up in the middle or that I will sit still long enough to finally take the time to learn how to use my sewing machine and create some romper magic of my own!

I Love BJs

I have yet to wear this amazingly cute polka dotted skirt I scored at Buffalo Exchange while excitedly scouring Haight St. in San Francisco. I immediately loved it because of its' slightly larger-than-usual polka dots and the way it flares out a la 50's style; not to mention it was twelve dollars, which is definitely Dannie price Baybee!

Originally I had planned on wearing it sock hop/grease style complete with a pink monagrammed neck scarf and frilly, lace bobby socks. I never debuted it though because something about that ensemble just didn't feel right to me. The fact that the skirt was polka dotted made the sockhop theme feel too expeccted and unoriginal. However, leave it to the queen of creativity, Miss Betsey Johnson to hugely inspire me and give me a whole new outlook on this fun and flirty piece!

As I watched a video from Betsey Johnson's Spring '08 RTW show last night, I sat mesmerized and excited, inspired to the core by her fun, dollhouse, glamour Barbie designs! I am now completely planning on wearing the skirt with my black, deliciously oversized Hello Kitty bow instead, so much more fun and fresh, no? However, I'm still not sure about what top to rock with it, suggestions are welcome :)) I'm thinking of a bright colored something or a graphic top in order to amp up the otherwise simply black and white ensemble, hmmm...

SUUUUUUUPER SUMMER

Summer is and always has been my favorite! As each day turns to the next, I dread the day summer is officially over (not sure exactly which day that is and I don't want to know!) Before you know it, the sun will again settle down and school bells will once again be ringing; the natural euphoria one feels just upon waking up to bright, beautiful, sun shiny days will soon be gone; a definite tragedy in season form. However, being the glass-half-full kinda chick that I so seriously am, I intend on completely indulging in the few weeks of wonderful that I have left.

Summer has been:

Perfect thirst quenching Sonic Route 44 LemonBerry slushes. A newly discovered adoration for San Francisco. Amazing buys of breezy sundresses, long tanks, tie dyed heaven, and various, neato neon pieeces (just to name a few). Blissfully blazing with the bestie. Succulent sushi. Dancing, dancing, dancing! Absolutely adoring short hair! Blasting the AC and attracting stares while jammin' in my car. Ecstatically groovin' to Lil Wayne, Drake, various Reggaeton, Ne-Yo, and Dream. Procrastinating on summer math homework. Remembering and religiously bumpin' Michael Jackson. New, super sic' friends. Falling passionately in love with Lipton's Sparkling Green Tea. Being indescribably infatuated with sugar free Redbull. Laughing until my abs burn while watching The Office DVDs after 12AM. Crazy summer night walk and talks with the favorite cousin. Expanding my Spanish vocab, and remixing lots of my old clothes with new ones to create masterpieces!

Summer Will Be:

Universal City Walk club scene. Six Flags! Beach, beach, beach! Skinny dipping after dark. More sushi! My first American Apparel buy (neeeeeeding this). Vegas! Sunnies shopping spree in Downtown LA. Lil Wayne/Drake concert! Another much needed trip to San Francisco (may come back, but probably won't) and many other magical things that can only take place in the suuuuuper season that is SUMMER ;)))
