You know when it's like "Geez, I really want to wear this striped top" and then you're like "Geez, I really wanna wear this little leopard coat" and you jokingly think how cool it would be if you could wear them both, and then you actually try and it's like voila wardrobe wizardry? I think that's the funnest part of fashion: the endless combinations one can come up with by just letting loose and truly expressing yourself without a specific point in mind; for me, this organic, free spirited approach has produced some of my most favorite looks.

Later, looking back at what I wore this day to class I couldn't help but think of Edie Sedgwick, not sure why exactly, maybe it's the classic stripes and the faux fancy coat; although hers were probably real; I however could never wear real fur, even if it were an option, which it isn't.
I don't think I'll ever get over black and white stripes, they're so versatile and timeless. I've also been loving this particular shade of blue in my tights for quite some time now, punchy but not overly so. And the little animal print sneakers are really cool because they let me wear them with both dresses and jeans, and even though I wear jeans maybe like once a year, it's comforting to know I have the option.

First time on Haight St. since moving to San Fran had me wanting to stop every three steps due to being in awe of everything. As well as mentally jotting down things I wished I had enough time to actually write out in my journal because I kind of forgot most of them soon thereafter. Dripping with originality and culture, I quickly realized Haight was a dream I never really knew existed, an inspiration island to say the least; I can't wait to go back.

Regarding realizations, on this day I found myself stuck between the desire to be both chic and street, and it was nice to confirm that lace and leopard actually play quite nicely together; this awakening added another dimension to the pretty-meets-punky aesthetic of my style. I'm all about experimenting with different prints and fabrics right now; looking at pieces in an unconventional light to put together truly original looks and force out a message in a unique (rather eccentric) way, it is personal style after all, right?

Meet Coconut Morocco, he's my ferocious cheetah head (and paws) ecstatically purchased on Olivera St. back when I resided in sunny Southern Cali. I'm convinced we were meant to be; not only was he priced at a mere 17 bucks, but I feel like he embodies my sense of self; cute and cuddly, yet equally brutal when necessary. I find myself wanting to pop it on whenever I desire a cozy feeling, as well as when I feel grrrish and edgy; despite where I'm headed that day. In a small and possibly weird way I suppose Coconut has become somewhat of a security blanket, a stuffed animal I can carry with me without looking like some kind of regressive weirdling; because yeah, by wearing it on my head instead, I totally avoid that labeling, uh huuh..

This look wasn't intended to channel Sandra D but looking back I can't get the vision of the good girl gone bad, playing with her gum at the school carnival out of my head. I'm more than ready for spring and I think it's going to be an edgy one. Classic liquid leggings mixed with romantic floral give off the exact amount of sweet and sass; perfect for free spirited spring breaks and flirting in the park with randoms whilst laughing incessantly with best friends.

I've really been trying to incorporate denim into my looks more often because of its classic aesthetic, and being that I much prefer leggings as pants more so than jeans, I'm left with getting my fill from jackets and vests. This one, by Heritage 1981, is so classic because the wash is pretty complementary to any colors thrown in with it and I got it a size bigger to expand on the classic feel.

I also have a ton of bright colored and crazily patterned socks and hosiery sitting in my drawer untouched because lately life has been so fast forward that I haven't had time to interject eccentricity. But I told myself I'd wear everything in my closet this year at least once so I've started with these sky blue socks that really remind me of spring as well, or hippies, hmm.. I believe it'll be a good season, what are you going to wear?

That Chick from the H&M ads

..is how I began my search on the beyond awesome inspiration who I now know is Freja Beha [Erichson]. I didn't even know her name or if I'd ever seen her previous work, but I couldn't shake the surge of inspiration and energy I got every time I passed one of her posters or billboards Downtown. Compelled to take notes, her naturally cool aesthetic whirled my mind with inspiration. The perfectly pronounced high cheekbones, the effortless edge that exudes bohemian bad girl, and her free flowing wavy locks..she alone made me want to shop at H&M. It is safe to say she is my current favorite model and definite Spring inspiration.

I love the relaxing vibe of Sunday afternoons; life just seems to take on a calmer feel. Here, I'm wearing my Jesus ♥ Me tee that I scored for a mere 4.99 at Forever 21's sale rack. Part of the reason I love Forever 21 so much is their variety of clothing options; it is a little awkward though to see a Jesus related shirt placed just a foot away from faux leather mini shorts and stilettos.

Many people seem shocked upon realizing that Forever 21 is apparently a Christian based company, even though John 3:16 is stamped on every bag. It's awesome though because I can represent for God without having to wear one of those cheesy, over sized, unflattering tees and hoodies Christians are forced to wear to pledge allegiance; or maybe they actually like 'em, although that doesn't seem very plausible.

Anyway, I'm still wearing dresses as skirts, this floral maxi one is from Forever 21 too and I was a little hesitant to buy it at first for fear of unintentionally purchasing a moo moo, but I think it worked out pretty nicely.

Bamboo Banga

This is a pretty adult-ish outfit coming from me, no? The heeled clogs, the sensible jacket... Blame it on furniture shopping with my family. Although we found some great pendant lighting for my new San Francisco place; whenever I go out with my parents I tend to dress less freak of nature ish; partly in hopes that no one will recognize me..kidding, for the most part anyway..

These harem pants are actually a jumpsuit (see here) and I love how they're as comfy as pajamas yet nice enough to wear with heels. I always look for versatility when buying clothes. Can I wear this more than one way? Is this a trendy piece that I'll hate next week or something I can reinvent later down the road? I definitely like to get the most bang for my buck, haha, I love that phrase but it's true- I dress to express, not invest.

There are probably way too many photos in this post, however, considering I've been on hiatus for almost a month now (my deepsest apologies), I felt the need to compose a final purge before starting fresh with more recent happenings. The majority of these photos are from earlier this year, dating back to even 2008 or so up til' a couple weeks ago...just a composition of stuff; like my old Hello Kitty obsessed, pink, and sugary room, shots from LA's Little Tokyo, mi vida Dolce (my amazing Pomeranian/Pitbull mix pup), and of course- random, ridiculous shots of me trying my best to appear normal. I've recently moved to San Fran if you didn't know already, which is why I've been M.I.A lately, but things are starting to become familiar and this whole disappearance thing won't happen again, I give you the majority of my word.

I've been wearing skirts a lot lately, although I don't know if it counts if they're grunged up with Chuck Taylors and spiky accessories. The floral skirt is actually a dress, I just pushed it down some because I didn't feel like dealing with the halter top part. I've also been making good use of my specs lately, I think they add an extra dose of character, not that there's a shortage on that.
Also, as aforementioned, I just moved to San Fran and wow, it's so different than the Antelope Valley. I constantly feel like I moved to a different planet rather than just a few cities away. Admittedly though, I kinda felt like I was from a different planet before too. If you're in the area, let me know, I need some fashiony friends.

Bright Side of the Moon

This is officially my first San Fran post (yay),and with all the packing, prepping, and praying I've been doing since the move, the only clothing that has appealed to me lately have been effortless, comfort clothes that conveniently double as cat nap attire when I need a break from unpacking boxes.

These metallic leggings are my favorite go to pants when I want to give off the vibe of effort and thought without actually acting on either. Despite their bold hue, they have proven to be really versatile, seamlessly adding umph to any otherwise basic look. This wolf sweat shirt reminded me of those original vintage pieces that you see in magazines, one of those pieces you used to have years ago and regret tossing because you now realize its cool factor a few years too late. It's softness and roomy fit make for a classic, favorite sweat shirt, and the wolf graphic is pretty sic; I actually want to see if I can rock it with a skirt, hmm, stay tuned. Oh and Happy belated Valentine's Day, we'll focus on that amazingness a little later when my room doesn't resemble UPS.

Only two weeks until I move to San Francisco; and now that my usually fashion frenzied mind has been hijacked by thoughts of modern dining room furniture and sophisticated bookshelves, it's more than convenient that CSN has over 200 different online stores; feeding both my fashion obsession and my dire need for new furniture. Recently, I've been wearing the lace up Pleaser boots they sent me a lot, as if they didn't cause my already 5'9 height to rival that of my favorite basketball team (Lakers by the way); and I can't wait to put together a proper review that will do them justice.

In other news, I don't know if it is the excitement of moving or just my natural state of geek becoming more apparent, but lately my choice of sunnies have been in transparent form and bright prints and textures have been dominating my clothing preferences. I feel crossed somewhere in between a Japanese school girl and maybe Punkie Brewster, whoever that is.

I felt like a Russian woman in this outfit, which is kind of awesome considering I'm, like, the opposite of that. There were two Russians in one of my classes last semester and they had the coolest way of mixing athletic wear into their everyday looks, not to mention the most toned, dream like bods, that I secretly hope to acquire in keeping this style up.

This track jacket is the only one I own, despite my pretty much living at the gym. You know how much I love contradictory clothing so when I saw this run of the mill track suit top lined with pretty black lace, it was a must purchase moment, especially since it was like 7 bucks. Then there's the camo pants. I love these form fitting, skinny versions; they're a perfect mix of feminine and edge, no? And not to mention, they're freakin' distressed, making them the perfect components to layer floral printed tights under, as shown here, well actually, you can't really see it.

When I'm not a student, model, freelance writer or Zumba/dance instructor, I'm a visual merchandiser at Forever 21; but you knew that already though, right? I focus on the visual aspect of the store; like merchandising apparel, dressing mannequins, and pretty much constructing the way the store looks.

Every quarter we do a massive floor set where new merchandise comes in and it is set up by theme. You know, F21 stores are merchandised based on trend and style. To recycle these leftover plans and because my camera is still m.i.a, here's a peek at some of Forever 21's new, themes; which one is your style?

All the Lonely People

Seriously, I've wanted a proper band tee for forever. In the past I've considered purchasing Lynard Skynard or The Whos tees, despite knowing maybe one song each, simply to be a recipient of the cool, effortless vibe that band tees posses. On those days where looking chic is the furthest thing from your mind, a preferably over sized band tee suffices effortlessly as a full on classic look with little to no effort required.

This Beatles tee actually isn't that over sized due to it's baseball tee style but I l adore it because it's versatile, comfy, and uh..it's the freakin' Beatles, need I say more? I assume this hat is vintage, I steal it from my boyfriend all the time because it's classic and I think everyone needs a good hat; besides, it makes him look like RUN DMC, which I don't love so much. I got these jeans at F21 (I work there so yes, I shop there way too much) and I loved their rocker-made-easy quality: zebra stripes, zippered seams; all they needed were a few scissored slashes to amp the edgy quality a little louder.

How to Look Hot When It's Cold

You don't have to resemble the abominable snowman and sacrifice your sense of style to avoid freezing this season; those overly burly coats with the unflattering waist pleats and moth bitten fur hoods do not have to be your fate. Looking hot when it's cold really comes down to layering. I am sold on layering all my distressed denim with tights or fishnets; tights are absolute heroes when it comes to keeping your gams warm in the winter. You can easily layer on a ton under anything and everything, making it possible to still wear skirts, dresses, and leggings without freezing. Another plus when layering tights, they work like Spanx, sucking in all the jiggly extras, leaving you feeling secure, slim, and toasty. Bodysuits are also a cold weather Godsend, I recently purchased a long sleeve velvet one that I wear under pretty much everything lately; turtlenecks and thermals work the same way when tucked into tights.

"I don't know what to wear, hmm, I'll just grab this faux fur animal print coat", she says, at least three times a week for the past two weeks. Thank God this coat is a piece that creates an illusion of effort, despite the lack thereof on my part. One statement making piece is all you need to look put together when you're really uh..pulled apart. The rest of the look can remain basic and just work as assistors.

Hairy Details

First and foremostly, sorry for being a crap blogger and not tending to this blog as lovingly and seriously as I once did. Not to make excuses but life has never been busier; working non stop, preparing for my San Francisco move, and most devastating: being two steps from a meltdown over my laptop just up and deciding to no longer work (I'm using my brother's right now and it's so not the same; my photos,my music, my life! Oh, I'll never get over this). But all hysterical crying aside, here I am and I vow to be better, do better, and blog better, all before the whole New Years Resolution thing even arrives.

Speaking of better, I'm changing the mane again, which means serious hairspiration. Although I've rocked the cropped, pixie, Rihanna reminiscent look more than a few times (see here, here, and here) I'm no where near over it and I still get awkwardly overexcited when I see girls with short curls (or just short hair in general; I was trying to rhyme). I adore the natural mystery, confidence, and effortless chic factor that seems to ooze from shorter hairstyles. I have yet to officially make up my mind yet though, although I am sure I want a light color, maybe blonde, I'm not sure, definitely something dramatic yet versatile and adequately effortless; but..I'm not sure.

Happily Ever After

It was way too cold outside; I really wanted to shoot this outfit though because it's kind of a love story. So this shirt was around 22 bucks at F21 which for me is a little steep. It immediately reminded me of the rose from Beauty and the Beast though and it felt like princess cloth, really light and easy. I'm usually attracted to more eccentric pieces, bold and original stuff that the cloned hipsters of this desert valley are too "down" to wear; so, my favorites more than less go on sale. In conclusion, the Beauty and the Beast shirt droopped to 7 freakin' 99. And the crowd goes wild.

I made a pact to myself that I'll actually wear my beanies and hats this year while the weather allows. Buuut, I keep wearing the same one. It just works; and you know about that whole "If it ain't broke don't fix it" thing.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here, I want so much stuff at F21 (damn working there) Man oh Man, they've come out with these Dr. Marten knock offs that are sooo good, I already have at least 17 outfits planned with them, hypothetically speaking. I feel kinda grinchy buying myself stuff this time of year but I mean..well, I'm sure you get it.

Daisies and the Dark

These photos were taken about two months ago, right before the city temperatures plunged into the 50 degree and under category and before my legs were at risk of icicle transformation. My favorite thing about this lace dress is the frayed hemlines, they add a little edge to an otherwise extremely feminine piece. Rarely feeling comfortable in very pretty looks, I was relieved that my boots manged to give things a nice balance. The best piece though, is this waffle stitch faux leather jacket! With it's subtle yet regal shoulder padding, the black lace and chains, I'm convinced this jacket was made especially for me and had been stealthily planted in my midst for purchase. However, I almost didn't get it because when the cashier told me it was on sale for only ten bucks, I almost died right there in the store.

Saaay Chic

Fashion and photography have always gone hand in hand, it may even be safe to say that you can't have one without the other; well I suppose you can, it just wouldn't be as chic; enter in the Forever 21 photobooth. Being that my boss throws any exclusively fashion based project or promotion my way, I'm in charge of the new Forever 21 Photobooth in my area; and as much as I sometimes despise being randomly whored around the store as the mascot whenever it's time to wear promotional items or the fashion consultant, or in-house personal shopper whenever customers need advice; I must admit this new F21 photobooth thing is actually pretty cool.

Here's how it works:

I should've snapped a photo of it but it looks just like a standard photobooth, aside from having F21's signature yellow and black coloring and red lip color laden models plastered all over it.

The booth allows you to take four shots and it prints out two photostrips.
The photobooth also prompts you to create a 30 second video on why you love Forever 21, your favorite trends, or pretty much anything your fashion frenzied little heart desires.
Once the photostrips print out, there is a code at the bottom that allows you to access both your photo/video online and post them to your Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Then you enter your video into a monthly 210$ F21 shopping spree competition, and winners are chosen based on the quality of the submitted video.

Surprisingly, many girls are really timid and self conscious when it comes to seeing themselves on film. As cool as the Forever 21 Photobooth seems to me, I'm often met with variances of "No, I look like crap" or "By myself? Oh no, I can't!" Hmm..I guess daily bouts of posing awkwardly in random places to get outfit shots for this blog has really deadened the whole "Oh my gosh, I look like a monster on camera" thing for me.

Is there a Forever 21 photo booth at the store in your area? I' love to see some videos! Try not to judge mine too harshly, like this one and especially the one of me solo here where my voice is unexplainably, super annoyingly five octaves higher than normal.

As of Late

Basically, a variation of printed leggings layered over tights have been daily protocol, the only variance being in over sized tees and sweaters. Despite the season, I've noticed one thing never changes- my obsession with leggings. They're just so effortless and comfy, and when layered with a pair of tights- they continue to be perfection ridden even when the way-too-cold weather is not.

For my birthday I had dinner with my closest friends at my favorite sushi restaurant; it was delicious and I ate so many rolls, my stomach could have been Sea World. I am so excited I decided to wear my new Pleaser boots at the last minute, CSN products are always so seamless and just seem to fall right into place with my wardrobe. Speaking of which, as always CSN has beautiful, great quality pieces, and there is a wardrobe armoire I'm pretty sure I must own, perfect for storing new fall pieces.

In other news, I'm pretty sure I'm channeling a Cheetah Girl or some Disney pop star in this sugar covered yet rather risque ensemble. Ah well, I must stay in touch with my youth while I can, its ticking away as we speak. Guess how old I turned!

Midst of Productivity

5 1/2 inch lace up boots from Pleaser sat on my doorstep when I returned from class that morning. I grinned knowingly as I made my way upstairs to unpackage my package (haha). The super dramatic, gushingly sexy, lace ups I ordered only a week ago were here, and just a day before my birthday. I put down my tried and true Luella messenger bag and popped off my favorite pair of Chuck Taylors, more than excited to change footwear and see if the powerful, jaw dropping, effortless dreams I'd been having about these boots would be coming true.

My hair looks asleep in these photos, hmm..

Anywho, I was attracted to this soft and cavity inducing sweater when upon viewing it, I immediately envisioned an off duty ballerina. Thinking back, I suppose I should've went for a small rather than a medium, but sometimes over sized pieces are better, evidently however, not always. Adversely though, the horizontal glitter stripes serve as an awesome consolation.

This kind-of-like-a-tutu skirt was a four dollar purchase that I've been trying to get use out of but am having a hard time with the excessive pleating that seems to create curves where curves are unwanted, ah well. I was super excited to pull out my glittery, princess pumps though. Being that the shoe itself is pretty much a glitter stick with a heel, most would assume they'd never get worn; but then you meet me and pretty much every assumption you've ever had jumps out the window.

They say it isn't wise mixing business with pleasure, however, if the business at hand is indeed pleasurable, I suppose a double standard comes into play. These shots were taken around a month or so ago by my amazing, super talented, and fiercely fashion frenzied Roxy of the original and always inspirational blog, Hobos in Couture. Work continually ceases to feel like work when in the right company, and we had a great time encapturing the feeling of serenity, free spiritedness, and mystery that has been keeping us consistently inspired throughout the season.

Additionally, sorry x a billi for being all not here and such; school and work have taken complete control of my so called life, along with a two day Halloween celebration that banged but resulted in the lost of my all-time favorite jacket (seriously) and a birthday that is such a blessing yet has left me feeling a little anxious since its arrival. The time is now and all mediocre excuses and unwarranted delays are futile. Honestly I could go on forever, my life has been quite the ride as of late, and I keep forgetting to wear my seat belt.

As aforementioned, the whole barely-there shorts and roomy tee thing seriously became summer's unofficial uniform. I believe this look manifested from sweltering, triple digit temperatures, and the mandatory need to reveal as much skin as possible in hopes of avoiding heat stroke whilst walking to my car.

Finally now though, the heat waves have crashed and burned and it seems as though the only time microscopic shorts will come into play within the next few months is with at least a couple layers of tights. However though, these butterfly imprinted cowboy boots may have to make a few more appearences. Being that I've worn them a total of maybe three times since they were purchased three years ago, I was awestruck at how many compliments I recieved on them while marching around restlessly at work, trying not to count the minutes till I clocked out.

Classic, comfy, and cohesive; Fall doesn't get much more effortlessly excellent than pajama reminiscent legwear and inherently cool head gear. When I don't feel like emphasizing my chic factor, and thinking about what to wear inappropriately feels like a quiz, leggings and beanies are two pieces that consistently deliver.

Ever since the Southern California heat waves made way to a much lower temperature, variations of a roomy tee and (sometimes layered) leggings have reached daily uniform status. Forgive the light weight hooker shorts. A crusty, over the hill aged guy that I suppose thought he was funny felt the unwavering need to make me aware that my shorts were indeed borderline pay-to-play by yelling "How much?" from his little pinto bean vehicle as I made my way into the gas station, surveying the joint for an able bodied male to fill my annoyingly deflated tire with air.

Realistically, these acid wash, stretch denim shorts are amazing, although I doubt they're even real denim, they're so comfy and effortless; to think they were only a little 4$ purchase in San Fran's Buffalo Exchange last summer. Combining them with a basic yet vital v neck made for a perfect pairing that offered a generous amount of style without much effort, and a fair consistency of extremely high temperature relief.

I believe this look to be a prime example of my open/close belief, being that if one body part is being showcased (ie lots of leg, cleavage etc.) then it should be paired with a non exposing piece like boyfriend jeans or an over sized tee. Imagine this look with a tank or crop top; in combination with already up-to-there shorts; people would be expecting to blow more than just my tire.

I'm becoming convinced that camouflage pants are quite possibly classic. Despite its very apparent print, camouflage effortlessly pairs with an array of different colors and prints. Pieces like bright red cotton, b&w striped hoodies, or a top within the same camouflage pallet really gives the look a fresh perspective.

P.S: Fall is finally here. I'm a little more than excited to break out my printed tights and knee length boots. I also can't wait for cute, big buttoned coats and thick knitted scarves, hats, and gloves, paired with tulle and intense, yet doll like heels. My heart has been set on oversized, cozy knits with soft and sultry lingerie inspired pieces ever since watching Chloe; Amanda Seyfried was full of serious cold weather style inspiration.

I don't know how politically correct it is, but my leggings often serve as pants. Due to their effortless fit and guaranteed comfortability factor, jeans rarely stand a chance. I curiously ponder whether my being a dancer could play a role in my deep love of latex laden legwear..

A: Maybe. Although there are a variety of ways to wear leggings on various body types; in order to adequately pull off leggings in place of actual pants, its best to work with a smaller body frame. The more curvy and voluptuous the body, the sexier the look will appear (being that leggings automatically highlight body shape to the max.) In order to achieve the effortless, waif esque, non chalant look..an almost boy shaped, very slim, even sans curves body type is best because it will draw attention to the whole look rather than highlighting curvaceous hips and thighs.

Lately I've been all about comfort clothing, things that just feel good on the body, and don't require much maintenence.

The hippie bug has bit me again and I can't seem to stay away from cropped tops, florals, or boots that hit no lower than knee length. The sweltering temperatures of Southern Cali make me feel like a melting candy bar, disallowing me to wear anything tight, body hugging, or complicated in even the slightest sense.

I went to sleep with my hair in pigtails in hopes of achieving soft waves but the next morning I decided to not even take them out, how's that for effortless?

Lately, I've been really inspired by classic rock, free spirtedness, and chic comfort. Are you sick of this bunny tank yet? Me neither! I love loose fitting tanks, which is why I bought this one in a medium. Over sized pieces are so versatile because they can be worn casually as well as dressed up; layer it, tuck it in, tie it up, soo many options, that's when you know you've got a treasure of a piece!

Despite that I pretty much never wear jewelry (with the exception of earrings) due to my tendency to consistently live life in fast forward; there are times when just the right piece of jewelry is dire in completing a look. What do you do when you know exactly what that perfect piece would be but you don't own it? Well in the case of needing a lengthy pearl necklace, just attach two together! Sure, the hook is rather obscenely visible but its all about the look as a whole anyway.

When the Miu Miu's came out this spring, the ones that lightly resemble Mary Janes, I admired them for about two seconds and moved on because not only would the at least 4 1/2 inch heel cause my already 5'9 height to rival that of a basketball player's, but I just could not drop at least 350$ on footwear; like never. This explains why when I spotted very similar beauties at Forever 21 for hundreds of dollars less, I had to try them on; and once I tried them on and fell in love with their drama yet doll like sweetness, I was sold, or rather, the shoes were sold, to me.

Then last week, my boyfriend and I were heading into CVS for the necessary condiments to accompany our pizza (ranch, peppercinis, horrible I know) and there was a homeless man just outside the door surrounded by the most random items. Amongst various children's books on tape, several issues of National Geographic, and calenders, was a pink poodle backpack. "Ooh, look, look!" I coaxed my boyfriend as we continued into the store. "Three dollars!" the homeless man replied, noticing my overexcited interest. I immediately paused; three dollars is one of my favorite prices! My boyfriend sighed with a knowing grin. Exactly three dollars later we made off with childhood favorite, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, complete with both book and tape, my prized pink poodle, and an extra large poster of a bullfrog that the homeless/sales man decided so generously to throw in.

What a pleasent surprise when the bold, eccentric, and not to mention, full priced piece you convinced yourself you'd wear over and over again in order to be at peace with its purchase, turns out to be just as wearable as you talked yourself into believing it would be.

These shorts were bought on a total whim as the I rushed across the floors of Forever 21 trying to find something that showcased my personality for a photoshoot I had the following day. The fact that I was instructed to dress in a self expressive way ironically hindered my ability to do so. I work best in free form, and when given any type of guideline or restriction, I grossly over think every aspect and inadvertedly spend hours changing and rechanging, only to finally settle on my original thought. However, the shorts ended up working perfectly, as I have found myself reaching for them more than a couple times this summer. They look so good with, well, everything; the nuetreuls, the brights, the prints, the lights (yes, I rhymed on purpose).

Although this has been at least my third post featuring these colored denims, I am going to try and squeeze them in one last time before the best season ever bids its farewell, because as wearable as they are, I just don't see them working for fall. I have decided I am going to give them away, yes, once I reach 100 followers I will give these shorts away to a lucky reader, I'm all about sharing the love.

Summer Lovin'

All summer I've been majorly crushing on vintage style. You know what I mean, right? Like 1920's-60's fashion; the polka dotted pieces, big bows, high waisted trousers, and of course the head scarf look, with cute as a button bangs sitting coyly across the forehead. I just love the goody good with a secret feel of the trend, and how donning a scarf around your head and sporting something as simple as bow flats are suddenly more stunning and sexier than the strappiest of heels.

With era inspired looks it can be pretty easy to go a little overboard, resulting in the assumption that you've arrived via time machine. However, the key to achieving a look that pays homage to your favorite decade while still keeping it 2010 is to bring modern elements to the look without sacrificing its key pieces. Play up the most classic elements of the era's style but use more modern pieces to pull it all together.

I had been slightly salivating over these mid waisted polka dot trousers for at least a month before I even purchased them. The fun, feminine print, combined with super comfortable fabric and the piece's subtle romantic feel had me creating outfits in my head centered around these pants before I had even tried them on. The pink Hello Kitty top I paired these dream pants with is a tee I continuously see in a classic, rather 1960's light, although I'm not sure why because Hello Kitty is rocking a fro, it may be the soft coloring. The little kitten heels were my Prom shoes. During my senior year of high school, when I saw Grease for the first time I instantly fell in love with..everything, and insisted that my prom look be very 50's inspired.

Lastly, although I not only donned polka dots but the classic era inspired head scarf (which works wonders on lazy hair days) with this look; I modernized with a simple Hello Kitty tee and substituted elegant strings of pearls for a shorter, more youthful, pink pair; making it kinda 50's but steering away from Halloween costume.

Just a few shots from the last couple of weeks or so, as well as a couple from my grandmother's garden. I've been wearing floral a lot lately, it really encompasses the sweet, flirty, and bright feel of the season.

As you've probably noticed, I can't stop wearing my lace up boots, it seems that every time I pull out a flower print, the boots automatically come along with it, not that I mind or anything, I kinda love them.

..Just a few of the comments I overheard as I browsed my favorite section of Forever 21, spotting faux leather pieces that caused an overpowering emotional combination of shock and joy. As I combed through the sale section's (yep, that's my favorite section) many racks, I let out an audible gasp when I spotted the perfect little, wannabe leather shorts. Whether I could pull them off or not never really crossed my mind; the way I see it, all it takes to pull off any look is confidence, even if it is an itty bitty pair of leather shorts.

Should I profusely apologize for the rather poor quality of these photos? They were randomly shot in a dim lit parking lot which do these great fitting, comfy feeling favorites no justice. However, don't trip Chocolate Chip, I love these babys, and I'll be wearing them a whole lot, probably too much.

There are few things I loathe more than the pairing of a super cute, really interesting, or great graphic top with..blue jeans; it completely robs the essence from the ensemble and dumbs down a quite possibly genius outfit to nothing more than a shirt and a pair of jeans. Granted, if the shirt is maybe black or white, and the jeans happen to be dazzlingly distressed or come in one of thee best washes ever, I'll make an exception for the epic quality of a classic look; but otherwise, thoughtlessly popping on an awesome top with uh..jeans, basically screams style deficiency or at the least: effortless, minus the cool factor.

Due to my deeply embedded inability to keep anything even remotely simple, my latest Hello Kitty addition insisted on being paired with a piece that complemented its bright coloring and fun, flirty theme. In completion of this look, I momentarily struggled with the choice of footwear, but came to the conclusive decision that fiery red boots (despite 100 degree temperatures) would be so much more fancy and fun than say, houndsooth flats, I mean..right?

My brother went completely fatherish on me when I came stomping down the stairs in what I suppose is a shress (shirt length dress) but, in my opinion, doubled perfectly as a straight up dress when the weather was sooo hot that all should be thankful I even had enough courtesy to don clothing at all. He insisted that my admittedly pretty high hemline gave off the "wrong message" to which I argued that the cut off tights I complemented it with completely dismissed any overly exposed connotations. Despite the sweltering temperature though, the unruly desert winds insisted on making an appearance, turning all attempts of a hairstyle into the exact opposite; not that I minded or anything, being that I'll take any excuse that allows me to rock a beanie and skip out on styling the 'do..not that I ever do my hair anyway.

I would've never originally thought that olive green and florescent pink would play so nicely together; working at Forever 21 can be rather inspiring at times, to say the least. One of our new floor sets is called Battle Star Galactica, embedded with military meets prep, hard meets soft, lace meets leather, and consequently, green meets pink. Ooh, maybe that's how I'll describe my style: sort of a girly meets grunge, punk meets prim, sweet meets sour, hmm..at least for now anyway.

Wow, can you believe it is almost July? I'm just starting to really get into my summer mode of heat wave induced yet romantically peaceful mornings, the whimsy of dancing around an air conditioned room donning only frilly, light pastel colored under garments, and smiling as the music blasts and the sun blazes; inspiring not only effortless yet exceptional summer looks but providing the perfect spontaneity spurring soundtrack to an amazing and adventurous summer.

I am indeed a sucker for ruffles, not too many of course, I'm not a fan of appearing overly feminine, not usually anyway. However, I suppose this dress's femininity is muted enough, the fluffy hem is rather demure, not to mention, pairing it with high tops pretty much dismissed any lasting bits of ultimate girly factor this dress originally intended, then again the shoes are splattered with flowers, hmm. Speaking of my new floral high tops though, aren't they just divine? I wish a clearer photo could have captured them but in case it isn't clear here, they are amazingness in footwear form! Aside from the fact that I adore high tops, the sides and front of the shoe fold over, revealing an entire floral garden; see, amazing right?

I believe it to be a fact that the most coolest, original and inspirational looks are the ones that take literally minutes to put together. A failed attempt to construct a mildly decent hairstyle, a tendency to automatically reach for dark colored tees when being chic falls drastically low on my things I care about scale, and my subconscious obsession with all things fishnetty-cobwebby are just a few of the many attributes that play into what I generously refer to as grunge, but can be more accurately characterized as the result of surveying the content of my closet and heavily shrugging my shoulders in response.

No More Homework, No More Books

I've been longing for the perfect pair of denim shorts for quite some time now; an even, classic wash, a length short enough to be both cute and kinda sexy but avoids the appearance of being half naked when sitting down, and a comfy yet structured fit that will keep you reaching for them all summer long whether you feel like hotting it up or just strolling on the sunlit sands. However, due to my inability to spend more than say, twelve dollars, on a yard of denim; I took it upon myself to snip off a pair of old bootcut jeans and was suddenly left with a makeshift pair of shorts that are maaad uneven but will totally do until I'm able to put my cheapness on hold long enough to purchase my dream pair.

Although I'm usually all for bright colors, eclectic pairings, and bold accessories, it's surprisingly refreshing to dress down, or in other words, regular. A simple white polo and classic Chuck Taylors clearly exemplified the elsewhere focus of my thoughts and feelings that were taken over by Finals Week. To don my usual eccentric, unconventional parings would have been no more than a facade of joy and free spiritness that in truth were momentarily yet intensely replaced with incessant studying on subjects I don't care about, writing eight page research papers on things I'll never again discuss, and memorizing thousands of definitions and formulas that immediately fled my mind the moment the last bubble on the Scan Tron was filled in. Nevertheless, I had to give a shout out to my true self by rocking my colorful, comic book Chucks, they're indeed my favorite pair.

I just love the feeling of summer, the season embodies a wild, carefree, and effortlessly fierce attitude that makes the sweltering heat it bears so much more than worth it. Perfect mini dresses with hemlines much shorter than hemlines should ever be, super hot heels that instantly step up any look, and wild, untamed tresses that exude free spiritness. Sigh..sooo excited for the crazy, unforgettable adventures of summer.

Yes, this is my natural hair, finally right? It feels rather liberating to rock my mane, I haven't in literally years. I get so many comments/questions about my hairstyles etc. because they change almost as much as my outfits do. It's like a Cocktail but Fashiony

The following looks range from 2008 to last year. No, I haven't been naked the past few weeks (although the already sweltering weather has spawned some serious wishful thinking) but I'm working so much that outfit posts have been few and far between, as in pretty much non exsistent.

An ethereal crown of rubies, jewels, and diamonds sat atop the princess’s head. Her romantic, pouf shouldered dress complete with a form fitting corset and tulle skirt adorned her frame like a dream. The silk slippers she wore on her feet glittered in the sun as she made her to the magic well. She peered into the clear, deep waters and wished with all her might that her prince would soon come to carry her away on a majestic, white horse bridled with golden reigns; the two would ride off into the romantic sunset, gazing into each others eyes with a love so perfect there were no words, living happily ever after…

Being a princess is a dream every girl can relate to. Back to the time before our age required two digits, a plastic crown and a faux diamond ring was all we needed to feel special. Whether it was a favorite fairytale, the story lines we created for our dolls, or the magic wand and ruby, plastic heels we insisted on donning everywhere; being a vision of flawless royalty was inarguably the best part of being a young girl.

Now that we have traded perfect princes for Levi laden lads and stunning white stallions for automatic Audis, it seems as though the magic has been lost when in reality, one should feel like a princess every day! Transport back to the time where glitter and diamond shaped stickers were the only makeup we needed and tulle skirts were better than a pair of trousers any day. After all, life is what you make it, wouldn’t it be so much more fun to make it a fairytale?

I've Got the Blues

Cobalt blue, bright blue, Gonzo from the Muppets blue, I prefer to call it electric blue because it just sounds cool; whatever you want to call it, this specific shade of blue has been my favorite color for almost half a year now. I just love its bright, smiley, and bold feel! It can easily be worn day or night (unlike say, yellow?) due to its versatile and always dazzling hue.

P.S: I'm going to start listing the prices of my pieces from now on because I am an adamant believer that true style is priceless. Although I'm a pretty snappy dresser (if I do say so myself ;) ), I honestly spend next to nothing on my clothing and it is important to understand that a great look has nothing to do with the price tag or label; great style and confidence are what creates an awesome look, never how broke you went over purchasing it.

This bright colored sun dress is so sweet and sugary, with its over sized spots and slightly voluminous waist; I half expected to see the Brady Bunch pop out and sing Sun Shiny Day. If I was in a cheerful, over the top, super happy musical, this is definitely the dress I would wear as I sang with the chirping birds and stopped to pet all the animals in my neighborhood.

Unsurprisingly, my natural urge to convert all things pretty into an edgy, grunge esque style is still alive and kickin' as I pull on my Timberland boots while donning this prep girl piece. Although the finished product proved to be pretty unconventional, I was pleasantly surprised with how good this cavity inducing piece looked when it was a little bad.

I've been having war with denim for quite some time now, and lately it seems that denim has been winning by a landslide. I notice myself reaching for it when longing for comfort while still wanting to maintain structure, needing a simple look but still desiring flair..

The fact that this particular denim happens to be in the form of a light romper makes it an even better addition to my sudden fondness of the fabric. Originally my plan was to go for a more polished look, but my demolition hair and cobweb tights pretty much stabbed that idea in the heart.

Reminescense

Last summer does not seem so long ago, I can still rememeber the smells and sites; and due to the indecisive weather of the 661, I find myself hit with its deja vu surprisingly early this year, considering it is still April and all (at least for a few more days, I'm trying to hold onto it).

I must say that short hair was one of the smartest decisions I made last year. The effortless sex appeal, intrigue, and confidence it exuded was unmatchable. At the risk of sounding uncouth, I love, love, freakin' loved it and I can't wait for another round of cropped cuts this coming season.

On the subject of clothing, the denim in these photos are James Jeans I scored while interning for the company this time last year actually. As you know, I'm in no way a fan of jeans (due to their inability to ever fit both my hips and waist cohesively) but these denims were a pleasant surprise, as they complemented my gams with perfection and halted right at the ankle, adding even more flair aside from their cool, classic wash, and easy fit.

In the realm of tops, don't you love this super cool hipster, tie dye tank I copped on Haight St. in SF last summer? The fabric is a soft, intricately netted mesh that provides for a breezy, fun, and super light summer piece. I also love how the print repeats on the back because it always sucks a little when a graphic top is plain on the backside (forcing me to rock it backward sometime).

I refer to this dress as my punk princess piece because that's what the section I got it from at Forever 21 was called. I love this dress because although it's dramatic, the color palette is so chill that it makes for an easy I'm just gonna get dressed piece. So far I've worn it with fishnets and Chuck Taylors, as well as with my enourmous Hello Kitty bow for Halloween when I was a Japanese school girl; it is so surprisingly versatile.

The most common comment I get in reference to my style is: "I love your confidence, I could never pull that off!"

While I more than appreciate the gracious compliment, I always wonder why exactly one wouldn't be able to pull off a bold, eccentric look. Dressing boldly is always more fun! Wearing a piece that strays from the more tamed, conservative chic factor takes your style a step further by displaying a strong level of confidence, subsequently improving the look. Actually, some of my favorite wardrobe pieces are are of the slightly off kilter kind.

I have always been a devout believer in self expression and creativity, and really the reason I love fashion so much is because of the voice it gives you without you ever having to say a word; your personality, mood, and even morals shine through your personal style.

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, yes, I totally went out in this outfit; if you know me at all, that comes as no surprise. It was great; fun, bold looks always improve my mood and just put a brighter tint on the day as a whole.

..and these sunnies originally reminded me of Anna Wintour, however, the more I see them, the more my mind helplessly drifts to Lady Gaga, yeesh..

Spring is all about easy, breezy things so when I trekked down to Studio City to meet with American Apparel, a fun tee and elastic waisted acid wash shorts clearly seemed like a cute plus comfy win.

I'm absolutely in love with these shorts and cannot wait to wear them all summer; the fact that they have an elastic waist constitute them as genuine perfection because I did not have to spend my day feeling like a gangster with my pants sagging off my waist every five minutes, as per usual. Plus, although they appear to be denim, the material is a lot softer, making them perfect for lounging or going out. Aaaah, I just looove super wearable clothing!

Hi spring!

These photos reign from circa 08, back when I still had patience for my tripod. They remind me of a Teen Vogue editorial because of how bouncy and random my poses are, and I love that because Teen Vogue editorials are my absolute favorite!

The floral leggings are definitely still my main squeeze, embarrasingly enough I'm wearing them right now. It's safe to say floral print is absolutely classic; it complements every style, with the effortless ability to be dressed up or down. My favorite floral look is a pairing with distressed denim and lace. Ooh, I'm so happy for spring, so funny how I never paid so much attention to seasons before I started this blog.

I haven't seen Alice in Wonderland yet but for some reason, this look reminds me of it. Although I've worn this dress on the blog already, I've had a deep longing to grunge it up (as I do with most pretty things) and add a funky factor to a piece that screamed sweetness just a little too loudly. As aforementioned, this dress heavily reminds me of the whimsical Betsey Johnson, and I think the striped tights easily enhance that notion. Am I a fashion faux paux for the bra sneak peek? If it is any consolation, its embroidered with floral and lace, complementing the dress. I hope you are not tired of seeing Chuck Taylors in every post, it is just that they pretty much epitomize the easy, fun, funky, and classic attributes that accentuate my style, and they effortlessly add a cool factor to basically any look.

..and what a sweet tune it is. I must say that although I previously thought denim upon denim to be thoughtless and hugely erroneous, seeing it presented in a fresh and innovative way has me quickly warming up to the trend. I think it was the tragic matching jean jacket/boot cut jeans combination that ran rampant during high school years that constituted my grudge against wearing more than one piece of denim at a time. However, when done the right way, this look is so cool and chic, with lots of room for variety. A great way to wear this trend is to pair washes that are different yet complement one another, like a dark denim with a contrasting soft powder blue; also, layering the denim looks great too, like a vest over a dress. I'm currently yearning for a denim button up to belt over a distressed light wash mini.

You're Too Sweet for Rock N Roll

Once upon a time, I was completely obsessed with the Hippie-Boho esque style (as was the rest of 2007-08 fashion mongers). However, as the trend came and went, my love for its easygoing, cool, effortless nature did not. Being the creative, positive, life loving type, I've always identified with the hippie/bohemian culture, as cliche as it sounds. Also, I just love the idea of clothes that feel good on your body and look amazing without requiring enormous effort or thought, not to mention, sunnies that take up your entire face; those are always a plus!

I find it a humorous paradox that while being inspired by the hippie era, I donned both fur and leather; them both being of faux nature of course because I would never really wear either. I freakin' love x a billi this dingy shag rug looking vest, a more every day version of Kate Hudson's shaggy number a la Almost Famous. These cheetah print flats are so comfy they feel like slippers, actually they kind of look like slippers too, hmmm.

As I put together this outfit I couldn't help but smile at how amazing it is to be able to express oneself through clothing; as I subconsciously gravitated toward comfy, soft, and easy apparel, the final product totally showcased the easygoing, relaxed, yet slightly romantic way I felt; yay Fashion!

Jane and the Leopard

Surprise! I do own shoes with a heel higher than one inch! Being 5'9 in height though, high heels are a little too dramatic for my day to day, but sometimes I like to indulge a little. I love the instant chic lift that high heels give to a look and the sexy, confident feelings that surge whilst donning them.

This look was exhibited for church, which looking back now seems a little sinful, but I promise I kept my blazer on the whole time! I was actually pleasantly surprised by this blazer that my mum got me from Metro Style. I previously considered the catalog to be home to all that is married and in the age range of thirty and over, I now take it back..I think. I love the high cut of this bodysuit as well, it added a hint of risque to the otherwise sophisticated look; again reiterating why I shouldn't have worn it to church, sheesh, freakin' Dannie..

My main reason for loving Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City, aside from her chic and unique sense of style and sexy quick wit, is the fact that she's a writer; this also applies to Rebecca Bloomwood of Confessions of a Shopaholic. Being a writer and Journalism major myself, seeing two of my life's main components being played out on screen always provides me with superior inspiration, both fashionably as well as writing related. My friends and family complain as I journal while watching movies or shows at home, arguing that I'm not really watching the movie; although I am watching, just picking up on a different component.

The longing question that resonates in my mind is, what is the link between fashion and writers? Why is it that writers are often portrayed as original, confident, and eccentric trendsetters? Does this just make for good fiction heroine material or is there a subconscious relation? Well, both disciplines call for self exploration and an open minded pioneer; and the best of both writing and fashion are intensely made up of deep creativity and dominant originality, making their harmonious union seem fated.

This brings me to a few different announcements, like the fact that I am more than a little excited to see the upcoming Sex and the City sequel; the few photos that have been leaked, like those of SJP in 80's attire, already have me excitedly inspired. In addition, Sex and the City author, Candace Bushnell, is soon releasing The Carrie Diaries, which is sure to be a great read. Lastly, I'm launching a project really soon, and I really hope you love it!

But She Gets It While She Can

A few things I should probably mention: I have been gravitating toward cheetah/leopard print like magnets for quite some time now, I just can't seem to get enough of the automatic edginess it adds to a look. The [oversized] skirt I'm wearing was once a skort but I cut the shorts out to make it a top, then decided I still liked it as a skirt. Usually I'm a firm believer in the non mixing of metals, but in a moment of spontaneity and threat of being late, I combined gold and silver, and surprisingly, it wasn't half bad. I've noticed that my style tends to focus more so on the overall look rather than intricate detailing which is why many of my accessories experience severe neglect, I don't know if that's good or bad, but it's me so we'll go with good. And lastly, this whole lip color thing has been a trial and error experiment, I've experienced both ends of the spectrum, and was given yet another reason as to why I should just stick to no make up, for the most part anyway.

Oh Pretty Baby, Theres Nothing That I Wouldn't Do

The answer is no, I haven't fallen off the planet, well not completely anyway. It seems as though life is moving faster than ever, and lately, fashion seems to be the only thing that brings me solace, allowing me to exasperate the emotion of my soul through clothing.

It is times like these, of too short days and even shorter nights, that I find myself reaching for the most abstract of clothing, in the most neutral of colors, made in the most comfortable of fabrics, skipping the hairbrush, and reaching for my darkest pair of sunnies, hoping to go unnoticed but subconsciously coaxing the opposite.

Grunge is clearly my default style, its effortlessness and low maintenance entice me, especially on days when I don't feel like trying. I love the idea of wearing something you don't have to think about looking perfect in, yet managing to achieve it anyway. Not to mention, messy hair, shredded tights, and classic Chuck Taylors basically equal unquestionable coolness.

Lately I've been experimenting with lip color; being that I don't usually wear makeup, the extra element of confidence and sex appeal that lipstick adds to a look was previously unknown to me. I now easily see why it plays such a big role in fashion; not only does it amp up the visual appeal of a look with drama and intrigue, but man, something about it just makes you feel hot, and that's definitely one of my favorite feelings.

Freak Show

Remember back in high school how the only people who had unnatural colored hair were goths and drama club freaks? And I'm pretty sure their extreme colored strands were part of what qualified them as outcasts in the first place. Now though, the lunch tables have clearly turned and Manic Panic manes are all the rage.

I've been fantasizing about adding a little soft neon pinkness to my 'do for quite awhile now and I'm excited to be able to add another element of fun and self expression to my personal style.

However, as much as I love fun, fantasy, rainbow reminiscent locks, I must express how irritating it is when a style that was meant to be personal and unique quickly becomes trendy and commercial just because someone in a high position of fashion says it is cool. Regardless of whether we truly like it or not, it's 'in' so of course we like it now, it's fashionable.

Hmm, well at least we don't have to fret about keeping up with the trend, Grandma's been wearing blue and pink wigs for decades and I'm sure she won't mind sharing.

We Came to Get Crunk, How 'Bout You?

It's Fridaaaay, bright colors are a must and music should be played no lower than max volume. These photos of me in my faaave hoodie are from last year and i'm sure it comes as no surprise that my favorite hoodie would be of Hello Kitty relation. Sometimes being comfy and casual can be just as much fun as dressing up, it can also look just as cute; okay maybe that's a bit of a stretch.

I've really been meaning to step up my shoe game some and luckily Aerosoles had a great variety of different shoe styles to choose from, making it so convenient to find what I had in mind, and the prices are freakin' amazing; I'm excitedly awaiting for the arrival of these.

Lastly, I feel it is my duty to inform that Lady Gaga's Telephone bangs waaay hard and it is mandatory on your weekend playlist. And oh yeah, has anyone taught you how to jerk yet?

Sunday mornings are always the strangest to get dressed. My church is pretty laid back, so big flower basket hats and even dresses are a rarity; jeans pretty much serve as the norm, even for the pastor. However, since me and denim leg wear rarely see eye to eye, these floral leggings suffice perfectly. To be honest, as of late, these leggings seem to suffice on a three-times-a-week basis; I know I should stop but they're just so comfy and pretty and easy, why wear anything else? This burly vintage coat was a gift from my SF trip last summer and although I don't normally gravitate toward encompassing, shoulder padded outerwear, I'm happy I did because this coat brings a sort of regality and sophistication, uncommon in my usual day to day looks; sometimes change can be good. On the contrast, bright blue still reigns as my current favorite color and I'm quickly discovering that it is a great complement to basically every hue and print. This jewel colored lapel reminds me of high school for some reason, maybe it's that old, but I just adore breathing new life into ancient pieces, it's kind of like getting new clothes for free.

..getting pretty freakin' tired of long hair and seriously can't take my eyes off of Irina Lazareanu's perfect cut, hmmm..

Sunnies Size Up

I can't stop thinking about sunnies, I neeeeeeed new ones, like fourteen pair at least, yeesh; that way when I lose the first eight pair in a week, I'll still have a few to choose from. I have the worst luck with sunnies, my gosh! I'll go to Downtown LA and be bowled over at the "3 for 10" deal, amazing selection, buy a billi, and then a month later, maybe even a week later, they're gone, or broken; or like the suuper cool, suuper huge, white pair pictured above: they fall into the toilet bowl at work, with one arm already missing and you're so frustrated that you just audibly growl and leave them there for another feening fashionista to fish out. Ugh, Forever 21 has a great selection right now though, hop on them soon because as I've learned the hard way, pieces at F21: here today/gone tomorrow, straight up.

Betsey Johnson Fall 2010

Betsey Johnson's Fall collection is the perfect mix of Cowboys and Indians. The cool western feel of tapered pants and billowy sleeves is upgraded with a touch of sassy femininety in forms of ruffled tailored tops and flowy boho blouses. The contrast of the collection's elements complement one another flawlessly. The harder, more androgynous (yet familiarly Betsey) saloon esque pieces paired with the doe eyed, boho, and feminine sillohuetes of Betsey's collection foreshadowed an effortlessly sexy, free spirited season to come. The pieces remind me of little girl playsuits and a costume box full of imagination. The fun prints and Betsey's famous tulle satisfy our eccentric tastes and she creates perfection in soft, seamless, bodycon ankle dresses and delicate sheaths in unexpected yet sexy and viable color palettes.

I looove that Betsey is so technicolor here, the chalky bright colors look magnificent with the sequined lounge pants, inspiration as always!

HAPPY (BELATED) VALENTINES DAY

My deepest apologies for lack of posting, spring semester just began and life is kind of eating me right now. I hope everyone had a fantastical, romantical Love Day or Single Awareness Day as my friend called it, I find it ironic how that spells s.a.d, hmm. Mine was great, spent it with my best friend which pretty much guaranteed amazingness! Oh and I finally found the perfect red lip color, it makes me feel so glamorous and vintage Hollywood sexy, will definitely be posting photos soon.

I see clothes differently than others, nothing is ever simple nor basic in my eyes, just unexplored. When wearing pieces that are meant to be pretty, I feel it is my duty to "unpretty" them and create a different feel. It would've been far too predictable and rather dull to pair the legendary Audrey Hepburn with a full 50's inspired swing skirt or even crisp tailored trousers (although I do like that last idea). My favorite pair of pants in all their bold, distressed and animal printed glory just clearly seemed like the more intriguing, perfectly contrasting choice. Although, I had to keep the pearls, that was pretty much a given.

I just recently watched Funny Face for the first time last week, during the SoCal flood, and I was a little distraught that absolutely no one pre warned me I was in for a musical. I must admit though, there's no one I'd rather see tap dance to corny music than Fred Astaire and the iconic Miss Hepburn. Mini shorts and tights, mini shorts and tights, it's becoming a uniform...not that I'm complaining or anything; it's pretty much the comfiest look I've discovered all year. And geez, I can't seem to take these specs off for anything, I subconciously find myself gravitating towards them with every oufit, I think I just love the fun quirky factor they add in.
